A miracle of nature in the heart of Anjou
On the hillsides of the Layon, the magic operates every fall with the appearance of the Botrytis Cinerea, or "noble rot". This rare fungus, favored by the morning mists of the Loire and the sweetness of the Angevin climate, concentrates the sugars and aromas of the grapes. This phenomenon of great delicacy transforms each bay into an aromatic jewel, giving birth to sweet wines of incomparable finesse and richness. Each vintage thus becomes the unique expression of a subtle balance between nature, climate and know-how.
An exceptional terroir in Saint-Aubin de Luigné
Nestled on the sunny slopes of Saint-Aubin de Luigné, our vines are rooted in a complex soil combining friable and clay-limestone schists. This singular terroir gives our wines a chopped minerality which comes to balance their natural sweetness. Here, variations in relief, exhibition and soil create a unique aromatic mosaic, giving the hillsides of the Layon de Saint-Aubin a refined structure and a remarkable depth.
The Coteaux du Layon Saint-Aubin de Luigné cuvée
Coming from the best grapes with noble rot, this cuvée reveals bewitching aromas of candied fruit, white flowers and crystalline freshness in the finish. Harmonious and elegant, it seduces with its beautiful tension which perfectly balances its richness. Ideal as an aperitif or with a fruity dessert, it is a cuvée of pleasure and character, emblematic of the excellence of the soft wines of Saint-Aubin de Luigné.
